Our 5 Services

Information & Referral

Our Information & Referral service helps individuals with disabilities, family members, caregivers, and community members connect with resources that support independence and quality of life. We provide information about local, state, and national programs, including housing, transportation, healthcare, employment, education, benefits, and disability-related services. If we do not offer a specific service, we work to connect individuals with the organizations and resources that can best meet their needs.

Skills Training Class

Our Skills Training program provides hands-on learning opportunities that help individuals develop and strengthen the skills needed for independent living. Classes focus on practical everyday topics such as budgeting, cooking, household management, decision-making, community participation, and other life skills. Through interactive activities and personalized instruction, participants gain confidence and knowledge that support greater independence in their daily lives.

Peer Counseling

Our Peer Counseling program connects individuals with disabilities to peers who have lived experience with disability and independent living. Through encouragement, guidance, and shared experiences, peer counseling provides support in overcoming challenges, setting personal goals, building self-confidence, and increasing independence. By learning from others who have faced similar situations, individuals can gain valuable insight, resources, and motivation to navigate daily life and make informed decisions.

Advocacy & Outreach

Our Advocacy & Outreach program works to promote awareness, accessibility, and equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout our community. We provide education, resources, and support to help individuals understand their rights and access the services they need. Through community partnerships, outreach events, and public education efforts, we strive to remove barriers, encourage inclusion, and empower people with disabilities to live independently and fully participate in their communities.

Transitional Services (high schools & nursing homes)

Our Transitional Services program helps individuals successfully navigate major life transitions, including the move from high school to adulthood and from nursing homes back into the community. We provide guidance, resources, and individualized support to help participants develop independence, access community services, explore education or employment opportunities, and build the skills needed to live and thrive in the setting of their choice.

A formal diagnosis is not required to receive services. We recognize that many individuals experience barriers that impact their daily lives and independence, regardless of whether they have received an official diagnosis. Our goal is to provide support, resources, and opportunities that help individuals achieve greater independence, self-determination, and full participation in their communities.

Mission Statement

We empower individuals with disabilities to live independently, exercise their rights, and participate fully in society. Our services support people in reaching their full potential, expanding opportunities, and contributing their unique talents and creativity to their communities.
